TRIM THE LACE When you first receive your wig, you will notice there is excess lace around the perimeter. This will need to be trimmed off. Be extremely careful, as you will need trim the lace as close to the hairline as possible without cutting any of the wig hair. If you are in-experienced at this, just cut the lace back a little bit at a time until you are comfortable.
WEAR WIG CAP It's not necessary, however many people prefer to wear a 100% Nylon Wig cap.
PREPARE YOUR SCALP Using either 99.9% Medical Grade Alcohol, or our Scalp Protector, rub it onto your skin all the way around your hairline where the adhesive will be applied. This will clear your skin of any oils for better adhesion and also protect your skin from irritation.
APPLY THE ADHESIVE If you are going to use a wig glue, you will need to apply a very very thin layer onto your skin, then wait approx. 10 - 15 minutes for the glue to become "tacky". At this point you can add another thin layer of glue, you will need to wait another 10 -15 minutes for it to become sticky or "tacky"
APPLY THE WIG Using hair clips, clip all of the hair up on your wig to make sure it will not get stuck to the adhesive you have just applied to your skin. Put on your wig and press the hairline lace firmly onto the adhesive. At this point you should wait a few more minutes for the wig glue to set up completely before styling. You can tell when the glue is finished drying as it will not be sticky or "tacky" and your wig will be firmly in place.
CLEANUP & STYLE YOUR HAIR At this point you may need to clean up some excess adhesive on your skin. Using our gentle citrus solvent, or 99.9% Medical Grade alcohol and a Q-tip or cotton swab, apply the sovent to the cotton then gently rub the area you want to cleanup. Be careful not to get to close to your hairline, if you do, you may need to reapply the glue to that area, or start over. You are now ready to style your hair!
